World knows not
There is a line in the Gospel of John that says, “The world cannot receive the Spirit of truth, because it neither sees him nor knows him.” This can be seen as John’s usual way of putting things into binary. But what would have prompted John to make such an unambiguous categorical statement?
John often emphasizes that the ways of the world are entirely different. If you think about it, in a way it is true.
Although the Spirit of Jesus tells us to stand up for the rights of others, we don't oppose those who take away our own rights, and that will never be acceptable to the world.
The world that advises us to avoid even those who have negative vibes and who are gaslighting, calling them toxic people, cannot know the Spirit who asks us to love our enemies and to pray for those who harm us.
A world that places too much importance on wealth, beauty, and status cannot accept the idea that these are transient things and what are permanent in life are love, contentment, and peace of mind.
A world that values the physical and the material cannot see that the soul as the most important.
A world that thinks one's own happiness is if prime value cannot understand the Spirit that values the happiness of others over one's own.
The way one finds one's own identity in God does not align with the worldly way of saying, "You are your own standard."
The world's principle that you determine your own truth and morality, can't agree that you are merely a particle of the Supreme Being.
Yes. John is right. In a way, the world does not see or know Him.
