1953 ഒക്ടോബര് മാസത്തില് 'സെറാഫിക് റിപ്പോര്ട്ടര്' എന്ന പേരില് ആരംഭിച്ച ഒരു ചെറുബുള്ളറ്റിന് ആണ് 1956-ല് 'അസ്സീസി മാസിക' എന്ന നാമധേയം സ്വീകരിച്ച് നാളിതുവരെ കേരളത്തിന്റെ സാംസ്കാരിക മണ്ഡലത്തില് യേശുവിന്റെയും അസ്സീസിയിലെ ഫ്രാന്സിസിന്റെയും മാനവികസന്ദേശത്തിന്റെ ജിഹ്വയായി വര്ത്തിക്കുന്നത്. കാലത്തിന്റെ ചുവരെഴുത്തുകള് വായിച്ച് ധാര്മ്മിക നിലപാടുകള് ഉറപ്പിക്കാന് 'അസ്സീസി' എക്കാലവും ശ്രമിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ആധുനിക മനുഷ്യന്റെ മനസ്സിനോടും മസ്തിഷ്കത്തോടും ചേര്ന്നുനിന്ന് അവന്റെ/അവളുടെ ജീവിതപ്രശ്നങ്ങളോട് ക്രിസ്തു ദര്ശനത്തിന്റെ സമഗ്രതയില് സംവദിക്കാനും അവര്ക്കു സഹയാത്രികയാകാനും 'അസ്സീസി' ബദ്ധശ്രദ്ധയാണ്.
