The above quote is from the Chinese philosopher Confucius.

Conceptually everyone knows that we only have one life. But the reality is that, that knowledge is shallow, or rather, lacking in consciousness. Otherwise, we would not be living the way we live.

Then some might ask, don't we have a life after death? The afterlife is not another life. As we understand it, it's just a continuation of the life we live today,. The second life begins when we realize that we only have one life. Then we would live in depth, awareness, joy, benevolence, and transcendence!
