People don't have relationships today. Relationships are becoming superficial.
There is also a lament that more marriages are breaking up. Many people are not able to stay as family for long.
There is also an observation that the number of people participating are on the decrease in Religious organizations.
Houses become singled. People are getting used to living alone with physical proximity by living in flats with a single external door.
No one seems to need anyone.
Many people say that it is because science has advanced; because society has prospered.
Now, how much has the scientific knowledge of an average person grown?
Of course, there must be several reasons behind every social issue.
Now, I will mention only one reason that many people have observed.
People are becoming career oriented.
Individually and socially people have begun to give more importance and gravity to personal interests, and realization of individual dreams. This is usually called individualism.
Needless to say that societal needs and the collective enhancement of the society is going to suffer then.
In other words, sectors where the group - the collective - the society have more emphasis: like the family, religious community life, the tribe, religion, etc will be neglected.
Population explosion, media explosion, technological explosion - all in these 'explosions' are catalysts for distancing from the group and moving to the individual.
Then, naturally, we can expect reverse movements too - and they do happen.
The drive to group is also an inherent in humans, even though at a particular historical moment it is more common to become singled!
