"It must be exhausting for those who hate. Totally exhausting!" It was thus, the other day a friend of mine ended her letter.

I was thinking, how right she was! What a tragedy this hatred stuff is. Isn't it the same for those who follow the ideology of hatred? If so, is it possible that a large percentage of the world's population is going through such a heavy burden, these days when the ideology of hatred is so widely propagated? I don't think so.

When questions and allagations about veracity, justice, and ethics are raised in many assemblies of representation, don't we see everyday leaders sitting there with stoney faces?! Even when credible allegations are made that they have done or participated in crime or immoral dealings, they shield them with stoney faces!

"To be moral, do we need God?" is a regular question for debate. Rationalists often claim that we don't need God to be moral. They ask that, how come there's much violence and cruelty in history of religion.

Yes. There has been much violence, aggression and terror not only in the name of religion but also in the name of politics, faith, ideology and culture.

It is a reality that many people in society, religion and politics have adopted the ideology of hate and are pushing it.

Basically, it is the conscience of each person that should guide and control a person to avoid evil and do good. However, a person can allow oneself to have a wrong formation of one's conscience. An erroneous conscience can be formed in a person through a wrong sort of education. When a person convinces oneself that "this is the ultimate truth", one can go to any extent to validate it in a religious, political or cultural context. The ideology of hate one has chosen and gotten firmly established, one's conscience has become distorted and therefore erroneous. In that case s/he no longer feels pressured by immorality, hatred or even cruelty.

Hate is now being scientifically produced in social laboratories! How to implant it 'scientifically' in humans has emerged as an expertise through social experiments and observations. Many universities are already offering courses in social engineering. I fear that in the days to come, they might design courses perhaps, undergraduate or postgraduate levels will be started to teach how to produce hatred, how to spread it and how to reap its fruits!
