“Comfort, says God. Comfort my people. Speak to them gently and proclaim to them” – it is with this commission a prophet enters the scene (Is. 40:1-2). What kindness, what compassion, is seen in God! They have been through many tears and have gone through many sufferings. They can't take the pain any more. They need ointment for their wounds. They need the caress of compassion for their scars. Tears of compassion and atonement should fall on their weary hearts. Don’t you see
എല്ലാ മതങ്ങളിലും ഇങ്ങനെയൊക്കെത്തന്നെ ആയിരിക്കും എന്നുതോന്നുന്നു. വിശ്വാസമില്ലാത്തവരുടെയും മതം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചവരുടെയും കാര്യമല്ല പറയുന്നത്. ('വിശ്വാസം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചവർ' എന്ന് ചിലർ ഉപയോഗിക്കാറുണ്ട്. ആ പ്രയോഗം ശരിയാണെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നില്ല. ആർക്കെങ്കിലും വിശ്വാസം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കാൻ കഴിയുമെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നില്ല. മതമായിരിക്കണം അവർ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചത്. അങ്ങനെയുള്ളവർക്ക് ഒരിക്കലും വിശ്വാസം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നിരിക്കില്ല!). ആത്മീയനേതൃത്വത്തെക്കുറിച്ചാണ് പറയാൻ ആലോചിച്ചത്. കത്തോലിക്കാ സഭയിൽ ഞാൻ കണ്ടിടത്തോളം - സന്ന്യസ്തര
