Dim-sight

Yes, the same thing what I said yesterday. I felt like saying it once again. We are born blind. We are born blind. Yes, from the moment we were born. Or even if we are born with some dim vision, in no time we lose it. Anyone who says that s/he sees is in a fool's paradise. None of us have sight: at least mostly. You only need to look around to perceive that.

Yes, the same old questions!

Who am I?

What am I doing here?

Who are these people around me?

Where am I going?

Who on earth has complete clarity about these things? No one. That's what the Bible says, we are all blind. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.

In traditional societies for example, a few had very dim sight. So they went to the mountains, or to the forests, or to the deserts to get more light. They tried to connect with the inside and the outside by closing their eyes for a period of time, and then opening them. Thus, they all gained a little more light. If we say "gained", the Bible would immediately correct us. No one gains anything. The Bible would correct us by saying that everything is given to those who ask for, or seek: beggars. And then they lived the rest of their lives in humility, with a slightly better vision than with a very dim vision.

For most people the above said way is not possible. Or even if it is, not everyone has the conditions to do it. The Indian view is that the letter is indestructible. The Bible would say the same thing like, 'not an iota or a dot will be removed from the scriptures'. All writings or scriptures are not alike. The density of the light contained in them differs. What is possible for the ordinary people like us is to meditate on the letter, the word, which contains more light. No one can climb up to bring the light down. It is freely given. It is scattered in everyone, at least in a very small scale. Just don't ignore it or bury it!
