We are all familiar with the many "divine passives" found in the New Testament, especially in the words of Jesus. 'Do not take God's name in vain' was one of the Ten Commandments. When it came to saying things like "God will lift up"; "God will put down"; "God will give"; etc., Jesus used to put it instead of using the name "God" in passive form, "shall be lifted up"; "shall be brought down"; "shall be given". Accordingly, I suspect whether the passage that says "Do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be made known" should be understood as "nothing concealed by God that will not be revealed." The passage begins with "Do not be afraid of them." Whom should we not be afraid of? Those who can only kill the body! Those who employ violence.
"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Not one of them will fall to the ground without your heavenly Father knowing it." Lepers who were somehow healed had to present themselves to the priests in the temple. They would buy two sparrows to begin their rite of purification. The priest would ask them to take some water in an clay vessel. One of the sparrows is now killed (sacrificed) over the water. Its blood is mixed with the water, and the other sparrow is dipped in it. Then it is released. The priest sprinkles that water on the person being cleansed. With that, he is cleansed! How much more precious will a human be to the One who considers even the blood of that little sparrow: because one is of much greater value than many sparrows! Who knows that the one who suffers and is killed is perhaps restoring the purity of the earth through hir suffering!
Maybe such secrets, which are now kept secret, be revealed one day?!
Thus, those who are persecuted are confessing Him!
Confessors!
